Dallas, TX
Mike spent the first 16 years of his legal career defending insurance companies, trucking corporations, hospitals, and major automakers like Ford and Chrysler. But everything changed in 1998 when he watched a family—grieving the unimaginable loss of their child—walk away from a courtroom with far less than justice demanded. The system failed them, and it lit a spark in him. From that point on, Mike committed his practice entirely to representing injured individuals and families, and his burning desire to pursue justice has not dimmed.
Now more than 25 years into his work on the Plaintiff’s side, Mike has become a trusted advocate for Texans whose lives have been upended by serious injury or loss. He’s tried cases across the state, representing clients in wrongful death suits, catastrophic injury cases, oilfield injury incidents, and product defect claims. Known for his relentless preparation and straight-shooting style, Mike fights hard—and with heart.
He is board certified in both Personal Injury Trial Law and Civil Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, distinctions he’s maintained through seven rounds of recertification since 1990. He’s also a graduate of the Trial Lawyers College and holds the rank of Advocate with the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA). Mike is admitted to practice in all Texas state courts, the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Northern, Southern, and Western Districts of Texas, and the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. He has also served on the Texas Supreme Court Pattern Jury Charge Committee, helping shape the jury instructions used in courtrooms across the state.
For decades, Mike called Tyler home—a place where he and his wife raised their family, investing deeply in their community and church family. While leaving East Texas wasn’t an easy decision, Mike recently relocated to Dallas to be closer to his two daughters, their husbands, and his growing crew of grandchildren. He now practices out of our Dallas office, bringing with him not just years of trial experience, but a long track record of service. Over the years, he has served on the boards of CASA for Kids of East Texas, the Children’s Advocacy Center of Smith County, Goodwill Industries of East Texas, the East Texas Food Bank, and Parents Services Center, Inc.—including multiple terms as board chair or president. His leadership and pro bono work have left a lasting impact on the children and families of East Texas.
Whether he’s in the courtroom or the community, Mike is the kind of guy who shows up, puts in the work, and does right by people. He’s known for his calm presence, sharp judgment, and steady hand in high-stakes litigation. With decades of experience on both sides of the bar, Mike brings a rare blend of practical insight and legal mastery—making him the kind of lawyer clients rely on when the outcome matters.
