John Runge

John Runge was born in Fort Worth, Texas and raised in the heart of the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex, where he developed a deep appreciation for community values and a strong work ethic. He went on to earn his Bachelor of Arts degree from Louisiana Tech University, where his experiences inside and outside the classroom helped shape his drive to advocate for others. That same drive led him to pursue a legal education, and in 1981 he received his Juris Doctor from the University of Arkansas School of Law. 

John began his legal career in a general practice firm based in Grand Prairie, Texas. From the outset, he demonstrated a natural talent for litigation and dedication to his clients. His early practice was marked by a remarkably broad range of cases—including felony criminal defense, wrongful death, workers’ compensation, medical malpractice, toxic shock syndrome, and
complex family law matters. These early years built a solid foundation for what would become a lifelong career focused on helping people navigate some of the most difficult challenges of their lives.

In 1998, John founded the Law Firm of John B. Runge, where he served clients across Texas for over two decades. He established a reputation as a trusted advocate in high-stakes personal injury, medical malpractice, wrongful death, and family law cases. His approach to law has always been rooted in preparation, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to doing what’s right—no matter the size of the fight.

Today, John brings that same passion and experience to The Sloan Firm, where he continues to fight for justice on behalf of individuals and families who have been wrongfully injured. Outside the courtroom, John’s greatest joy comes from spending time with his family. He and his wife Corinthia love supporting their many grandchildren in their activities, taking family vacations, playing pickleball together, and diving into their ever-growing list of family projects. Whether at work or at home, John’s life is guided by the same core principles: lead with compassion, stand for what’s right, and never stop showing up for the people who count on you.
