TORRANCE COUNTY, NM – According to KRQE, a man was arrested for a road rage incident on I-40 yesterday.

The incident occurred between a Freightliner commercial vehicle and Peterbilt auto-hauler. Police say that the Peterbilt cut off the Freightliner, causing it to leave the roadway. The Freightliner was able to return to the roadway but as it exited the interstate, the Peterbilt reversed towards the Freightliner.

The Freightliner managed to pass the other vehicle, and as it did so, its male and female occupants saw the Peterbilt’s driver yelling from his doorway. A verbal altercation followed and the Peterbilt’s driver, Henry Hostetler, pointed a handgun at the Freightliner’s occupants.

The incident was reported to police, who were able to locate Hostetler and arrest him. He has been charged with reckless driving and aggravated assault with the use of a deadly weapon.
